CDL Practice Test: Permit Prep — Privacy Policy

CDL Practice Test: Permit Prep (also called RigReady CDL, "RigReady", "we") is published on Google Play by ZaheeLabs. It is an independent study app for the U.S. Commercial Driver's License knowledge tests. This policy explains what data the app uses.

The short version

No account. You never sign up or give us your name, email or phone number to use RigReady.
Your study data stays on your device. Your answers, scores, settings, state and test date are stored only on your phone.
Anonymous usage statistics and crash reports (Google Firebase) help us fix bugs and improve lessons. They never include your name or your answers, and you can turn them off in Settings → Share usage and crash reports.
Ads (free version). The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect device identifiers and usage data to show and measure ads, as described below. RigReady Pro has no ads.
Purchases are handled by Google Play. We never see your payment details.

Data stored on your device

This data may be included in your device's own Android backup (Google account backup), which you control in your device settings. You can erase it at any time in Settings → Delete all my data, or by uninstalling the app.

Data collected by third parties

Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config)

We use Google Firebase to understand how the app is used and to fix crashes. Firebase may collect:

An app instance ID (a random identifier for this installation), device model, Android version, app version, language and approximate location (country or region, from your IP address)
How the app is used: screens opened, sessions started and finished, scores as percentages, the test you practiced, and settings such as your state, license class and help language
Crash reports: the error, the screen it happened on and basic device state

Firebase never receives your name, the answers you chose, or anything you type. We use this data for analytics and app stability, and Remote Config lets us adjust settings such as how often ads appear without an app update. Google processes this data for us as a service provider; see How Google uses data from apps that use its services and the Firebase privacy information. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and crash reports for up to 90 days.

You can turn analytics and crash reports off at any time in Settings → Share usage and crash reports.

Google AdMob (free version only)

To show ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share:

Device identifiers, such as the Android advertising ID
Approximate location derived from your IP address
App interactions and diagnostic information (for example, ad views and crashes inside the ad SDK)

This data is used for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. In regions where consent is required (such as the EEA, UK and some U.S. states), we ask for your choice with Google's consent form before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice in Settings → Ad privacy choices (when available in your region), and you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings.

Google Play Billing

If you buy RigReady Pro, Google Play processes the payment. We receive only a purchase confirmation needed to unlock Pro. See Google's Privacy Policy.

AI explanations (if available in your version)

If you tap "Explain it another way (AI)", the app sends that practice question, its answer choices and the choice you picked to our server, which uses Anthropic's Claude API to write the explanation. No name, account or device identifier is sent. AI answers can contain mistakes, and each one has a Report button.

Device features

Notifications: only if you turn on daily reminders. They are scheduled on your device.
Text-to-speech: the "Listen" feature uses your device's speech engine. No audio is recorded.
Explanations in your language: translation runs on your device with Google ML Kit. The first time you use a language, the app downloads that language's model from Google (about 30 MB); the text being translated never leaves your device. ML Kit may send Google basic diagnostic information (such as app and device version and performance data) to keep the service working, as described in Google's ML Kit data disclosure.

Children

RigReady is intended for adults preparing for a commercial driver's license (18+). It is not directed to children.

Not a government app

RigReady is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the FMCSA, USDOT or any state licensing agency. Official information is linked inside the app.
